FACT 3: BY THE NUMBERS: LOOKING AT THE DATA ON WHAT THE NORMAL FILIPINOS EXPERIENCED DURING THE MARCOS REGIME

1. 4 out of 10 Filipino families were poor in 1965 whereas 6 out of 10 Filipino families were poor in 1985.

2. About 14% decrease of the daily wage rate among farmers from 1965 to 1986.

3. About 27% decrease of the daily wage rate among urban unskilled workers from 1965 to 1986.

4. About 31% decrease of the daily wage rate among urban skilled workers from 1965 to 1986.

5. Prices of goods tripled in the last decade of martial law.
