The Union of Nation-builders and Innovators for Transparency, Empowerment, and Development (UNITED) fully supports the proposed amendments to the current 2020 CIT University - Supreme Student Government Constitution.

Among the notable changes are as follows:

• Addition of Treasurer General and Executive Auditor as elective positions in the Executive Department aside from the President, Vice President, and Secretary General

• Recognition of the Presidential Communications Committee (PCC) and Presidential Sectoral Advisory Council (PSAC) as legally mandated constitutional bodies

• Mandate the President to release an action plan for the 1st 100 days and to deliver a semestral State of the Student Government Address (SOSGA)

• Formalize the 2021 resolution renaming the Committee on Grievances and Concerns (CGC) into the Committee on Technologian Concerns (CTC)

• Allow SSG officers to serve external organizational positions while imposing transparency and accountability

• Introduction of the veto override by 2/3 of Congress members to a presidential veto

• Reforms to the Student Supreme Court (SSC)

• Formalize the change of the SSG logo and the creation of a Congress logo

• Introduction of the Code of Audit for the Commission on Audit (COA)

• Establish continuity and practicability measures of SSG operations in times of certain crises and fortuitous events

• Definition of members to a constituent assembly

• Clarification on the effectivity of presidential executive orders

We invite our fellow Technologians to vote YES to these reasonable and proactive amendments to the current SSG Constitution.

Voting is open until March 18, 2022 and is spearheaded by the CIT University - Commission on Elections.
