We stand in unity with the CIT University - Supreme Student Government and the whole Technologian community in appealing for the postponement of the start of the Second semester and the extension of the enrollment period.

Below is the full text of the solidarity statement:

SOLIDARITY STATEMENT ON THE CALL OF THE CIT-U SSG TO TO POSTPONE THE START OF THE SECOND SEMESTER AND THE EXTENSION OF THE ENROLLMENT PERIOD

The Union of Nation-builders and Innovators for Transparency, Empowerment, and Development (UNITED) stands in solidarity with the CIT University - Supreme Student Government and the whole Technologian community in appealing for the postponement of the start of the Second Semester and the extension of the enrollment period.

While our fellow students are starting to recover from the devastation brought about by Typhoon Odette, Technologians in certain areas still do not have access to electrical power and/or stable internet connection, both essential for the online mode of learning. UNITED believes that compassion and empathy towards to these unfortunate situations are important in establishing an inclusive educational environment especially during these trying times.

It has been one of UNITED's commitments, as a pro-student youth-led organization, to champion inclusivity and to fight for the students' rights to quality education. We believe that students should be given enough time and understanding until their access to electricity, network coverage, and stable internet connection are restored for them to be able to fully partake with the semester's online classes.

Together, we faced the onslaught of Typhoon Odette and together, we will be with you as one Technologian community.
