Today, we observe the International Coastal Cleanup Day pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 470, s. 1993.

We commend the volunteers and organizations spearheading coastal cleanup activities as they remove trash from the beaches and waterways, identify the sources of debris and change the behaviors that allow trash into the water in the first place.

Let us do our part in tackling the marine debris problem and support organizations that help in raising environmental awareness.
